What started as an organic Instagram Story announcing her purchase from Peping brand, led to an exclusive product launch, highlighting the growing role of authentic creator influence in shaping consumer behaviour and product innovation.
In an era where consumers increasingly trust creators over traditional advertising, a recent collaboration between creator Shivani Karnica and beverage startup Peping offers a compelling example of how authentic influence can move beyond content and directly impact business decisions.
What began as an unpaid Instagram Story recommendation from Shivani has evolved into a full-fledged product collaboration, resulting in the launch of Blush Rush, a limited-edition flavour co-created with the creator and her community.
The journey started when Shivani organically shared her appreciation for Peping’s fizzy drink with her audience. The response was immediate. Consumers began purchasing the product, reaching out to the brand, and sharing that they had discovered Peping through Shivani’s content. Without any formal partnership in place, the brand witnessed firsthand how genuine creator advocacy could drive awareness, trial, and consumer interest.
Recognising this momentum, Peping approached Shivani to take the relationship further. Rather than pursuing a conventional influencer campaign, the brand partnered with her to co-create Blush Rush– a flavour inspired by Shivani’s personality, preferences, and community. The initiative also served as a market test, allowing the brand to gauge consumer demand and assess the long-term potential of creator-led product collaborations.
The collaboration reflects a broader shift in the creator economy, where creators are increasingly becoming strategic partners rather than just marketing channels. As brands seek deeper consumer engagement and more meaningful storytelling, creator-led product development is emerging as a powerful way to build authenticity and loyalty.
“What we saw wasn’t just engagement; it was people acting on trust. A single organic recommendation translated into real consumer behaviour, with people actively discovering and purchasing our product without any paid push behind it,” said a spokesperson from Peping.
On Association, Digital Content Creator, Shivani Karnica said, “I shared the drink because I genuinely liked it. There was no plan beyond that. What surprised me was seeing people actually go out and find it, send me screenshots, and tell me they had bought it because of that one Story. To watch something so organic eventually turn into a product collaboration has been incredibly exciting and surreal.”
For Peping, the partnership demonstrates how creator influence can extend beyond content metrics to inform product strategy and innovation. For Shivani, it signals a growing opportunity to play a more active role in brand building and business growth.
