Glenmorangie, the renowned Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery, successfully concluded Casks & Conversations – an exclusive four-city tasting series across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Delhi. Hosted in collaboration with The Dram Club, the curated experiences brought together an intimate gathering of whisky connoisseurs, collectors and tastemakers for a sensorial journey through Glenmorangie and Ardbeg’s celebrated expressions, while offering a special preview of the newly launched Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Years Old in India.
The series was led by David Blackmore, Global Brand Ambassador and Ambassador Team Lead for Glenmorangie & Ardbeg, one of the most respected educators and storytellers in the world of Scotch whisky. Born and raised in Edinburgh, David brings decades of experience across whisky creation, cask selection and global advocacy. A Certified Whisky Professional, he has been recognised three times as Scotch Whisky Ambassador of the Year. His journey includes being part of The Glenmorangie Company’s Whisky Creation Team and leading the Tasting Panel at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, making his sessions a rare opportunity for Indian whisky lovers to gain first-hand insights into the craftsmanship behind some of Scotland’s most iconic single malts.
During the intimate tasting sessions, David guided guests through a carefully curated flight featuring Glenmorangie The Original 12 Years Old, Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Years Old, Glenmorangie Infinita 18 Years Old, and Ardbeg Ten Years Old. Each expression was brought to life through immersive storytelling, detailed tasting notes and insights into Glenmorangie’s distinctive maturation techniques and Ardbeg’s uncompromising Islay heritage.
At the centre of the experience was Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Years Old, the newest addition to Glenmorangie’s evolved age-led portfolio in India. Showcasing the distillery’s expertise in sherry cask maturation, the expression is matured in a combination of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, creating a beautifully balanced whisky with rich layers of raisins, honey, toffee and clove, complemented by delicate hints of cinnamon. Its launch completes Glenmorangie’s elevated range of The Original 12 Years Old, The Lasanta 15 Years Old and Infinita 18 Years Old, allowing consumers to experience a more nuanced journey through the brand’s signature style – smooth, elegant and fruit-forward, with notes of citrus, vanilla, honey and gentle spice.
The tasting also celebrated Glenmorangie The Original 12 Years Old, the reimagined expression of the distillery’s iconic flagship. Aged for two additional years compared to its predecessor, it delivers a silkier, creamier and more complex profile with vibrant notes of orange, honey, vanilla and peach. The expression has also been recognised with a Gold Medal at the World Whiskies Awards 2024.
Guests further discovered the remarkable complexity of Glenmorangie Infinita 18 Years Old, created under the vision of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation. Matured predominantly in American oak bourbon casks, with a portion spending an additional three years in Oloroso sherry casks, it offers a layered profile of honeyed caramelised citrus, floral jasmine and subtle spice.
The journey concluded with Ardbeg Ten Years Old, an expression that exemplifies the distillery’s unmistakable Islay character with intense notes of smoky fruit, peat, citrus zest, dark chocolate and maritime minerality.
Through Casks & Conversations, Glenmorangie offered India’s growing community of whisky aficionados a rare opportunity to deepen their appreciation of single malt craftsmanship, bringing together exceptional drams, expert storytelling and meaningful conversations around the art of whisky making.
